History

R.A.I. was formed by a group of Reflexology practitioners after legislation was introduced into the Illinois General Assembly in 1999.  This proposed legislation for the licensure of Massage Therapist would have greatly restricted or disenfranchised practicing Reflexologists. 

The need for a strong central organization within the State of Illinois to express the concerns and interest of Reflexology as a profession was apparent.  R.A.I. was formed and incorporated to fill this need.

 R.A.I. works across the country with other Reflexology organizations.  Our purpose is to educate the public and to define ourselves among other health care modalities.  As public awareness of complementary health care options grows, Reflexology and Reflexologists deserve to be one of the prime options the public can come to rely on.
